The 2002 Ft. Sheridan Memorial Day Service will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, May 27 at the cemetery flagpole.
This year's ceremony will honor not only fallen service members from past wars, but will pay special tribute to those killed as a result of the events on September 11, 2001 and the ensuing military operations of Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom.
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, with all ages welcome. All current active and reserve component service members and retirees are encouraged to wear the dress uniforms of their branch of service with decorations.
